With John Shindo Hart
On Wed 3rd August Hebden Bridge Zen Group will be welcoming John Shindo Hart, from Bridlington, East Yorkshire. John has been practicing Soto Zen Buddhism for over 30 years. He was ordained as a monk in 1998 and received Dharma transmission from Michael Eido Luetchford in 2007. He is a teacher in the Dogen Sangha lineage (of which Brad Warner is also a lineage holder), who study and practice the teachings of Dogen Zenji the 13th Century founder of Soto Zen Buddhism.
John will be joining us for our regular schedule of Zazen and service and for all those who wish to stay on, he will be giving a Dharma talk with an estimated finishing time of 21:45hrs.
The venue is Blessingway, Birchcliffe Centre, HX7 8DG Suggested donation £5
Half Day Sit
On the following morning (Thursday 4th) also at Blessingway, John will be leading a morning sit and giving teachings following on from the evening talk, which will start around 9:00hrs and finish approximately 13:00hrs There will be a bring and share vegetarian lunch. Suggested donation £10.
