MOUNTAIN SILENCE

PRACTICE WITH EVERYTHING

I am a bowl filled with ash…..
created from metal and earth and mountain,
shaped by minds, hands, instruments…
becoming…. this black, hard, small space,
container for ash, this ash, burned;
changed from something through flame.
I hold past, present and future, incense and offerings
to Buddha, dharma and sangha, to all beings everywhere.
I know all realms,
no judging or opinion,
not striving to be other than this,
central yet simple, looked after, cared for by gentle minds and hands;
not separate not caring, free of emotion;
going wherever I’m taken to hold any ash, no special ash…
any ash, timeless and precious yet simple;
not special, just this simple black body in stillness
in relation to Buddha and flowers and flame and ceremony ….
yesterday tomorrow and today.
I am open and still. I am small. I am large.
I am the mineral, the mountain and earth, the wind, rain and fire…
receiving the air, the sound and vibration, the energy and mind.
I am connected, connecting with everything.
I am you and you are me. Welcome!
