A Zen Retreat is a time of intensive meditation (silent sitting, about 10 periods throughout the day). Silent sitting alternates with walking meditation and lectures. After lecture there will be a question and answer period; in addition participants have the opportunity to meet the teacher in private interviews. Lectures are given in English. Otherwise, the retreat takes place in silence. There are breaks after each meal. The daily schedule includes an hour of work a day (e.g. cutting vegetables, cleaning, dishes etc.)
The retreat house Neu Schönau is beautifully located in the Mecklenburg Lake District.
